Staff scheduling in ChatGPT and Claude
Next week’s staff schedule, done in one conversation.
Tell ChatGPT or Claude who works for you and what each day needs. Stratum Shifts fills the week fairly within each person’s availability and hour limits, flags every clash, and gives your team one link to see their shifts.

How it works
Describe your team once. Each week after, fill it, fix it, publish it.
-
01
Describe your team once
Tell the assistant who works for you, the roles they cover, when they can work and their weekly hour limit. Then say what each day needs. Stratum Shifts keeps it all, so next week starts from this one.
In the chatAna and Ben are baristas, Cara cooks. Ana can’t work weekends. Every day we need a barista and a cook from 7 to 3.
-
02
Fill and fix the week
Ask it to fill the week. Open shifts go to people who are free, hold the role and have hours left, spread fairly. Anything that breaks a rule is flagged, and you fix it in plain words.
In the chatFill next week. Then give Ben Thursday off and move Cara to evenings.
-
03
Publish one link
When the week looks right, publish it. Your team opens one link on their phones, picks their name to see only their shifts, and adds them to their calendar. They do not need an account.
In the chatPublish the week and give me the link for the team chat.
What it checks
Every rule, checked on every change.
Each flag names the person, the day and the shift, so you know exactly what to fix.
Double bookings
No one is put on two shifts that overlap, including shifts that run past midnight.
Time off
Dates a person has asked off stay off.
Availability
Shifts sit inside the hours each person can work that day.
Hour limits
No one goes over the weekly hours you set for them.
Rest between shifts
At least 8 hours between the end of one shift and the start of the next, or the gap you choose.
Roles
Shifts that need a role go to people who hold it.
Uncovered shifts
Every shift the day needs is counted, and any still open is flagged.
Who it is for
Teams that work in shifts.
- Cafes
- Restaurants
- Shops
- Salons
- Clinics
- Cleaning crews
And any team of 2 to 75 hourly staff, run by the person who builds the week today in a spreadsheet, on paper or in a group chat.
Your data
Your schedule stays yours.
Stored on our server
Your team and schedules are kept on our server, so they are there next week and the week after.
Yours to export
Every week downloads as a CSV file and as calendar files.
Deleted when you ask
Delete your account and every workplace, person and shift goes with it.
Staff see only the published week
The link shows names, times, roles and notes. Never email addresses, availability or time off.
Try it on next week.
In ChatGPT you can build and check a week without an account. Publishing needs a free account.
